2. Adopt the Chinese 'Point-to-Gold' competition rule (details attached below)
3. Use a racking template to rack the balls 4. 全程比赛采用胜方开球 4. The winner of the previous game breaks in all matches
IX. Competition Format
1. Participation Format
1.1 The competition adopts a home venue system. According to the schedule and draw, three players are scheduled in advance to compete at the main venue for three days per stop.

1.2 Three players compete in each stop. The winner is determined by the cumulative points over three days. The player with the highest total points becomes the 'Fortress Holder' for that stop, while the other two are eliminated. The Fortress Holder defends the title in the next stop against two new challengers. If any challenger wins, they become the new Fortress Holder.
2. Number of Games 三天比赛,每天打40局,比赛中如一方完成超分,比赛视为结束 The competition spans three days, with 40 games played per day. If a player achieves an insurmountable lead during a day's match, the match is concluded.
3. Official Timeouts 每15局一个官方暂停,官方暂停5分钟 One official timeout occurs every 15 games. Each official timeout lasts for 5 minutes.
4. Scoring
4.1 Singles matches use the cue ball and object balls numbered 1 to 9. Players must strike the balls in numerical order. Match points are calculated based on 'Big Gold' (break-and-run), 'Small Gold', 'Standard Win', and 'Foul Points'.
'Big Gold' (Break-and-run): 10 points per game
'Small Gold': 7 points per game
'Standard Win': 4 points per game
Foul committed: Opponent gains 1 point
If the score is tied after the scheduled 40 games, one tiebreaker game will be played.
4.11 Big Gold: The breaking player pockets balls and legally wins the game on the same turn after the break.
4.12 Small Gold: Awarded in the following four scenarios:
a. The breaker makes a ball on the break and subsequently legally pockets the 9-ball via a combination during the same inning.
b. Any player legally pockets all remaining balls (excluding the 9-ball made via a combination) when only the 1-ball and 9-ball remain on the table.
c. The 9-ball is pocketed on the break.
d. All nine balls are pocketed on the break.
4.13 Standard Win: All other scenarios where a player legally wins a game.
4.14 Foul Points: For the first and second foul a player commits in a match, the opponent gains 1 point for each foul. If a player commits a third foul within the same game, the opponent gains 2 points and that game ends.
Note: Deliberate fouls are prohibited. The first deliberate foul results in the opponent gaining 4 points and loss of that game. A second deliberate foul results in forfeiture of the entire match.
5. 'Point-to-Gold' Rule
If the breaker makes a ball on the break and believes they can run the remaining balls, they may signal the referee to activate the 'Point-to-Gold' mode (declarable for either a Big or Small Gold outcome). If successful, the declarer's points for that game are doubled (i.e., 20 points for Big Gold, 14 for Small Gold). If unsuccessful (fails to run out), the game ends immediately, and the other two players in the match are awarded points as if the declarer had legally achieved the corresponding outcome without the declaration (10 points for a Big Gold scenario, 7 for a Small Gold scenario).
6. The object balls are racked in a diamond shape. The 1-ball is placed at the front of the rack. The 9-ball is placed in the center, on the foot spot. The other balls are placed randomly, but all balls must be touching each other.

Racking Specifications
In competition, a racking template or triangle is typically used for racking. At the start of a game, the racking template or triangle is placed in the racking area, all balls are positioned within its frame, and then placed in the racking area. The requirement for racking is to ensure the balls are set up quickly and tightly. The organizing committee decides which equipment to use. Racking is the referee's duty; players cannot rack the balls themselves unless explicitly required by the organizing committee.
Note: The point on the longitudinal centerline of the table, 635mm from the top cushion, is the foot spot.
7. Legal Break
A legal break must meet the following requirements:
7.1 The cue ball is a ball in hand and must be placed behind the head string.
7.2 The first ball contacted by the cue ball must be the 1-ball.
7.3 If no ball is pocketed on the break, at least three object balls must either be pocketed or reach the head string.
7.31 If one object ball is pocketed, at least two other object balls must reach the head string.
7.32 If two object balls are pocketed, at least one other object ball must reach the head string.
7.33 Failure to meet the 'three balls past the line' requirement is a break foul. The incoming player may choose to take ball in hand and accept the table position, return the shot to the opponent, or have the opponent re-break.
7.34 If the 9-ball is pocketed on a foul break, it is spotted on the foot spot before play continues. | |
8. Continuing Play
If a player legally pockets a ball on the break, they continue their inning. If a player legally pockets the 9-ball on any shot (including directly on the break), they win that game. If a player does not legally pocket any ball, their opponent begins play from the cue ball's position. If a player fouls, their opponent gets ball in hand (includes fouls on the break).
9. Scoring Categories
9.1 'Big Gold' (Break and Run): Legally pocketing a ball on the break and then clearing the table scores 10 points.
9.2 'Small Gold': Clearing the table after a legal break where no ball was pocketed scores 7 points.
9.21 Pocketing the 9-ball on the break is a 'Small Gold'.
9.22 Legally pocketing the 9-ball via a combination during the game is a 'Small Gold'.
9.3 Winning a game by other means is a 'Standard Win' worth 4 points.
9.4 A foul by a player awards 1 point to the opponent.
10. Fouls
If a player fouls, their opponent receives ball in hand and may place the cue ball anywhere on the table. General fouls include:
10.1 Cue ball scratch or leaving the table;
10.2 Cue ball first contacts an illegal ball;
10.3 No rail contacted after a legal hit;
10.4 Both feet off the floor when striking the cue ball;

10.5 Any ball leaving the table;
10.6 Touching a ball;
10.7 Double hit / Frozen ball foul;
10.8 Push shot;
10.9 Striking while balls are still moving;
10.10 Placing the cue stick on the table;
10.11 Shooting out of turn;
10.12 Excessive slow play.
11. Time Management
A shot clock system will be used. Time limits per match/shot, extensions, and their number will be specified, typically 45 seconds per shot. Timing starts when all balls stop and ends when the cue tip contacts the cue ball. A warning is given at 10 seconds, followed by a countdown from 5. Each player gets one 30-second extension per game. Failure to shoot in time is a foul. The break shot has a 30-second limit with no extensions allowed.
12. Spotting Balls
If the 9-ball is pocketed or jumped off the table due to a foul or push shot, it is spotted. No other object ball is ever spotted.

13. Stalemate
If a stalemate is likely, the referee may suggest a re-rack. If a player refuses, play continues briefly (e.g., three shots each). If unresolved, the referee declares a stalemate, the game is re-racked, and the original order remains.
14. Winning a Game
14.1 A game is won by legally pocketing the 9-ball, or if the opponent commits three consecutive fouls in the same game.
14.2 Pocketing the 9-ball on a foul requires spotting the 9-ball and awarding ball in hand to the opponent.
